Because you’re playing outside with the wind and the sun playing a huge part in the outcome of your game, its much better for a player to practice serving deep into the opposite court because the wind can blow a ball that seems a few inches outside the baseline, back into the court.

 

When the wind is up and kicking, players often call a ball that has been served high and deep in the court “out’ when it actually gets blown or drops back in especially when it comes to the high velocity jump serve. That’s why its advantageous to play on the side where the wind is blowing into your face (not away from you) this way, you can spike harder and serve harder into the wind and the ball is likely to stay or blow back into the court.

Serving in Volleyball

In volley ball, the service is the act to put the ball in the play by simple noises of a player, but really it describes one of the most important plays in the play of volley ball. The underhand and reversed services are described below.

Underhand Service

By carrying out the underhand service, the waiter should be of return of the line of end and in the prolongations of the side lines. It is the service area as described in the rules. This is Ty Loomis’ video from the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is the Beach Volleyball Gold Medal Match between Ty Loomis (USA) & Hans Stolfus(USA) vs Emanuel Rego (BRA) & Ricardo Santos (BRA). Emanuel & Ricardo were the defending Olympic Gold Medalist & were currently the #1 team in the World for 6 years straight. The Gold Medal Match was in Copacabana, Brazil, in Copacabana Arena. It was their home country, their home stadium, in front of 7500 chanting, dancing, heckling, screaming fans that were all cheering for Brazil in the 2nd largest International Olympic Format Event.
